JSTORIES ーJ-Stories, Japan’s multilingual news service focused on solutions-driven stories, proudly announces its role as a community partner for the 12th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC). This global competition, which began accepting applications on January 8th, aims to encourage the next generation of innovators to use deep tech to tackle global challenges in areas such as urban solutions and sustainability.

As a partner, J-Stories hopes to inspire young innovators to join this global initiative, provide Japanese startups with an opportunity to showcase their groundbreaking ideas globally, and foster cross-border collaborations that drive sustainable urban innovation.
About the event
The 12th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC) is a global platform for university-level innovators to showcase their deep tech solutions addressing critical challenges in urban solutions and sustainability.
Named after Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s first Prime Minister and a visionary leader, the competition honors his legacy of transforming Singapore into a global hub for finance and innovation. His forward-thinking policies in governance, economic development, and urban planning have established Singapore as a model for sustainable growth and technological advancement.

Organized by the Singapore Management University's Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SMU IIE), the competition offers over S$1 million in prizes, mentorship from C-suite executives, and extensive networking opportunities with industry leaders, venture capitalists, and policymakers.
Applications are open until April 30, 2025. The Grand Finals Week, known as BLAZE, is scheduled from September 29 to October 2, 2025.
